Technology

The innovation and development of new technology would be one of the biggest factors in changing the American society through entertainment and without the advances of technology, the advanced machinery that made creating movies possible would've never been achieved during this time period which would've made vaudevilles a lot more popular but with limited Accessibility. Moreover, without the radio being invented during this time period, the availability for sports events would've been very limited and not have reached the popularity it could've been if it weren't for the creation of radios. The advances of technology also helped bring connections for those who still had much of their daily time working and not having the opportunities compared to others in terms of free time and money.

With the radio first being introduced to America during the late 1800's it wasn't very accessible to those in the lower and middle class. However, as time passed and the radios started to go through mass production, many people were able to start using the radio for their own free time and it allowed people to listen in different news or sports commentating that was being played on the radio and that allowed people to enjoy their interests without having to spend money or for those to didn't have time for their hobbies and could do other activities while having the radio by their side. "True, they did this because radio in its early days was splendid news. It still is, for that matter" 1Another benefit that technology had on the American society was that the new tech was able to bring people together and even made the working environment enjoyable especially for those who still had to work in sweatshops or experienced tough labor. Though many Americans and immigrants didn't have the opportunity to gain an education and a career during this shift in the American lifestyle, with the radio present, some people enjoyed being at work listening to the radio and brought joy in these groups and connected those who had these similar interests in these hobbies that was accessible through these radios. So the invention of the radio really changed how people spent their time entertaining themselves whether it was during leisure time or doing some other activity, the radio was always present.
